October 23-24 will fotofestivalis Vilnius Photo Circle.

Program:

* Evening photo slide show (show) a large screen.
* Alexander Zemlianichenko lecture. Alexander (Sasha)
Zemlianichenko (Russian: Александр Вадимович Земляниченко), a famous Russian
photojournalist (b. 1950) works for The Associated Press in Moscow from 1990
years. He has traveled, recorded the news throughout the former Soviet
Union, the Middle East, Europe and the United States of America.
A. Zemlianichenko is one of the five AP photographer who in 1992
won the Pulitzer Prize for photographs of the Soviet coup attempt. His
Pictures of the Chechen-Russian war was entered into in 1995
Pulitzer contest finals.
The second Pulitzer Prize in 1997 received a photojournalist. It was
designed for the then Russian President Boris Yeltsin dancing rock picture
concert. The same photo won the World Press Photo Award 1996
year. A. Zemlianichenko was later invited to be the "World Press Photo
Jury member.
* Espen Rasmussen lecture. Espen Rasmussen (born 1976) - Norwegian
photographer located in Oslo. He has one of the largest fotoredaktoriumi
daily newspapers in the country and represent the agency Panos Pictures (
http://www.panos.co.uk). Over the past seven years he has produced a draft
together with the United Nations Goodwill Ambassadors and The Doctors
without Borders' participants.

а есть список кто прошел по конкурсу ? на сайте не могу найти

Говорят 10 финалистам уже выслали месагу, что они финалисты. Так что уже свершилось. Кто не получил тот пролетел. Я пролетел

значит должны на сайте дать список финалистов - мероприятие ж серьёзное

я спрашивал у оргов 14 числа. и они сказали , что только вечером по идее будет ясно кто прошел. ну раз информация точная что выслали финалистам мейлы, то я тоже пролетел)) . но все равно поеду на фестваль-аккредитовлся

От Беларуси есть финалист, и вы наверное знаете кто *) Ну по крайней мере догадаться не сложно.

А почему бы не назвать имя, если знаете кто? Я подозреваю, что финалист Саша Саенко. Александр, это правда?

на сайте написано, что в финале участвуют 12 проектов

а где вообще можно узнать информацию об этом мероприятии?

и откуда вы знаете сколько финалистов?

конкурс и фестиваль уже как 2 дня назад закончились, а результатов до сих пор нету, как будто бы ничего и не было...

я написал организаторам письмо, а в ответ тишина..

скоро будет всё... человек который готовит пресс-релиз итоговый, пока занят...

Dear colleagues, photographers, photography lovers and admi-
rers – in your hands you are holding a publication, whose
founders and publishers are professional photographers.
We are happy to be with you again with The Photo Circle, a
rejuvenated journal, which has acquired a wider geographical
reach and has scaled new heights of photography.
The publication remains committed to its purpose – to
advance the ideas of photography and promote this way of
self expression, which has a sustainable emotional and his-
toric value. This journal is the flag-bearer of the Vilnius Photo
Circle Festival. The publication presents photos by both newly
discovered and world-acclaimed photographers. Photograp-
hers share with each other their philosophy of life by creating
and conveying it in their photographs. This is what creates a
community of photographers capable of accepting each other
and developing together. This is the intended goal of both the
current and all the forthcoming photo festivals.
This year we have held the second competition of the Festi-
val – The Circle of Life – you will make acquaintance with some
of the competition entrants when turning the pages of this
Journal. The competition gave a positive and appropriate mo-
mentum to the running of the Vilnius Photo Circle, thus we are
most grateful to the Company Nikon and other sponsors who
give their support to the ideas, development and advancement
of the Festival.
We are convinced that the direction we have chosen – to look
for new photographers and to promote their works – is right. We
are going to continue further along this path. The second part
of the festival - Homework - is intended namely for this purpo-
se. It is dedicated for discovery of new photographers and the
promotion of their activity. Photographers are provided with a
possibility to present, reveal and show themselves – which is
exactly the aspiration of the Festival and its organizers.
A space is being created where it is possible to communica-
te and understand each other not only in different languages of
the world, but also by means of different ideas of photography.
Such forums, therefore, are both valuable and interesting.
We wish you good emotions and never-ending love of
photography.

ELLA PELLEGRINI
neužmirŠta daina | THE UNFORGOTTE SONG
Born in Verona- Italy in 1978. Ella graduated in Art Conservation
from University Ca’ Foscari in Venice.
She worked in Paris at Magnum agency for an internship
(2003). She did numerous photography masters, including To-
scana Foto Festival with Magnum’s Guy le Querrec and ISSP in
Latvia with Andrei Polikanov in 2010.
She moved to Australia in 2004 where she specialized in
photojournalism. Since then she’s been working mainly on
editorial projects. Since 2008 she’s a full time photographer for
the Sunday and Daily Telegraph in Sydney, Australia.


YULIA VISHNEVETS
STAMBULAS | ISTAMBUL
Born in 1980 in Moscow, studied at the wonderful school N1199
(League schools), then in the Romance and Germanic Philology
Department of Moscow State University. She worked as inter-
preters at the Museum of Cinema, edited the news in different
media (lenta.ru, Polit.ru channel “Russia”), wrote reviews of
books and movies (the magazine “Expert”). Since 2006 - Staff
writer correspondent of magazine “Russian Reporter, working
mainly on the big reports - stories. Collaborated with renowned
masters of photojournalism (Sergei Maximishin, Yuri Kozyrev,
Yannis Condos, etc.), following their example, she gradually ex-
celled the craft and more and more fell in love with him. I hope
eventually to develop a hybrid of visual and verbal journalism,
a form of which may be multimedia projects.

MATTEO ARMELLINI
NIEKUR | IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
Matteo Armellini was raised in Rome where he currently lives.
He studied Sociology at La Sapienza University of Rome and
Photography and Visual Arts at European Institute of Design.
In 2008 he started travelling through Europe, Asia and South
America, focusing on social issues and subcultures. In 2010 he
attended the master in photojournalism at Contrasto Agency
and the master at ISSP hold by Andrei Polikanov. His pictures
have been published in many magazine like The Big Issue
Australia, The Times, Aftonbladet, Vice International, The Trip,
Freak, Kult Magazine.

MILA TESHAIEVA
BUFERINė zONA | BUFFER zONE
Mila Teshaieva is an Ukrainian documentary photographer,
working on her personal project and on the assignment base
on the territories of former Soviet Union. Mila’s clients include:
UNICEF, Die Zeit, International HIV/AIDS Alliance, Kraft, Goethe
institute, RFE/RL, “The New Times magazine” and many others.
Mila is represented by the German agency Laif.

gram and went to Berlin, living there for 6 months. In 2009/2010
studied in the Photography School «Izvestia» in Moscow. In Juli
2010 took part in the final of «Young Russian Photographers»
contest. In June 2010, finished studies at Moscow State Univer-
sity and moved to Saint Petersburg.

I was born and still live in Belarus, in Mogilev. My interest in
photography came a few years ago - the initial entertainment
has developed into a serious illness. Later on photography
invaded all my interests, took control of my life, and I am un-
speakably happy about that. So many thoughts and joys came
to me thanks to this activity that are more than worth the time
and money spent for it. The main theme of my photography is
society and the communication between people in it - street
photography, reportage.
